Questions, answered.

If yours is not here, put it in a letter to the Society.

How do I ask for help with a vet bill?

Write a letter to the Society at 122 Cocheco Rd, Farmington, NH 03835. Tell it about your animal, the care your vet recommends and the estimate if you have one, and why the cost is hard. How grants work has a checklist.

How much is a grant, and is there a deadline?

The Society does not publish amounts, deadlines or an application form. Its grants are small, and each request is decided by the Society. Writing does not guarantee a grant or a set amount.

Can I phone or email?

You can call the Society on (351) 207-8729. No email address is published, so for anything in writing, please send a letter. If your animal needs care urgently, call your vet first.

Can I visit?

The address is a mailing address and there are no published opening hours. Please write before you think of visiting.

Does the Society have animals for adoption?

The Society's published purposes are grants and support: vet bills, spay and neuter, medical care, food, humane education and support for local rescues. They do not include an adoption service. If you hope to adopt, a local rescue is the place to ask.

Are gifts tax-deductible?

The Society is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and gifts may be tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. It is classified as a private foundation, so please ask the Society, and your tax adviser, before you count on a deduction. More about giving.

Can I volunteer?

The Society does not publish volunteer roles. Write and ask how you can help.

Where can I see the Society's accounts?

Its Form 990-PF returns are public. A summary is on the About page, with a link to the returns on ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer.
